Nebraska

Nebraska remains a no‑camera state. To date, the Nebraska legislature has not passed a law authorizing:
- Red‑light cameras
- Speed cameras
- School‑zone cameras
- Work‑zone cameras
- ALPR‑based ticketing
Nebraska municipalities cannot create their own automated‑enforcement programs because traffic enforcement is governed by state law, and there is no enabling statute authorizing automated cameras. As such, any city‑run camera program would be ultra vires (beyond legal authority).
